Documentary Project About the Kariotiškės dumping ground awarded at the Eastern European Forum in Jihlava
The Field of Magic documentary film project about people living in Kariotiškės dumping ground, directed by Mindaugas Survila and produced by the Monoklis studio, received success at the Eastern European Forum in Jihlava, Czech Republic and was awarded the Golden Funnel for the best developed project.

The Balcony to close the International Michel Children and Youth Festival

The Silver Crane Landed in The Balcony
On the 29th of May was the second annual night of Silver Cranes – Lithuanian Oscars. In the event broadcasted live by the Lithuanian National Television, prizes were given to filmmakers, their works and for cinemas people of merits.
A New Competition for the Grandma and Grandpa film
Having been to over ten international festivals and received as many as five awards, G. Beinoriūtė’s film Grandma and Grandpa continues its journeys across the world. The film will soon drop by Poles at the Lublin International Festival Rozstaje Europy (Crossroads of Europe). The documentary tale of exile will be screened at the competition programme at 12:30, April 23.

The Golden Cross Award Goes to Director Antanas Gluskinas
March 27, 19:00, at the National Drama Theater, the nation’s best theater artists received recognitions for their work in 2008. The director Antanas Gluskinas received a „Theater for Children” award for the show Bela, Boss And Bulli (based on Volker Ludwig’s play) he made in Šiauliai Drama Theater.

An hour before the Oscars 2008 ceremony, Lithuanian movie theaters’ network Forum Cinemas began electing the best films released to the Lithuanian movie theaters in 2008, taking into account the opinions of the filmgoers.
